Laura Koivusalo CEO & Co-founder StemSight Laura is a Doctor of Science in Technology in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. She conducted her doctoral studies in Tampere University,

where she designed new biomaterials for delivering human stem cells to the surface of the eye for curing corneal blindness.While finalizing her doctoral studies, she began to lead the commercialization efforts for the technology developed in the research group. Together with her three researcher colleagues, Laura founded the spin-off company StemSight in 2021. StemSight develops off-the-shelf treatments for corneal blindness using human stem cells. Additionally, Laura is award-winning pitching champion and has been awarded as the Outstanding Young Person of the Year in Medical Innovation by JCI Finland.
